Why do you need a VPS Hosting?

VPS stands for Virtual Private Server.VPS uses virtualization software to partition physical servers into multiple "virtual" servers. Each VPS hosting server gets dedicated resources from the host server, which offers a great amount of reliability and performance.

If you are using VPS you will get all the important features like Full root access to Guaranteed CPU, RAM, SSD Storage & Network and Management options like Stop, Restart and Rebuild for complete autonomy of the servers.

An excellent choice for web developers, webmasters, resellers, and for those who run resource-intensive websites, VPS Hosting operates and performs just like an independent physical machine would, except it’s partitioned into multiple “virtual” servers, offering security and flexibility for your websites, independence from your neighbors, and full control over your hosting environment.

How Other Hosting Options Compare

Essentially, hosting services can be compared by how the servers are set up and the type of access people have to them.

You can think of VPS Hosting as the hybrid approach, balancing the advantages of Shared Hosting with that of Dedicated Server Hosting.

Shared Hosting is more or less the “entry-level” of hosting, giving you and other customers access to one physical server. In essence, you’re sharing the key resources of that same server, things like CPU, RAM, disk space, etc. And although the cost is quite low, Shared Hosting is also low on customization given you have limited administrative access.

Dedicated Server Hosting, however, is on the opposite end of the hosting spectrum. Here, one single customer gets an entire server to themselves (ahem, no sharing in sight). Although there’s a higher degree of self-management and power, it also comes at a higher cost. Another potential drawback of Dedicated Servers is that they can only run on one Operating System (OS).

Here are the few reasons why VPS Hosting might be exactly what you’re looking for.

1. Scalable:

If your business has taken off or you plan to expand within the next year, a VPS is designed to adapt to the natural ebb and flow of a business.

That’s why with VPS Hosting, you can start as small as your business can afford and grow as your business expands. Pretty scalable, right?

All you have to do, depending on your hosting provider, is to authorize the cost of any upgrade or downgrade.

Forget messing around with hardware installations or going through long data transfers; with a VPS, you decide if and when you need more or less resources.

2. It Gives You Control

With a VPS, you call the shots.

Whether you prefer to operate things on your own or enlist the help of your hosting provider, a VPS gives you root access, the ability to install and update your own software, run batch files, make backups, customize your control panel, and update any software as you see fit.

And, since you’re not sharing a server with your neighbors (compared to Shared Hosting), you have way more control because you don’t have to worry about some rogue application shutting you—and everyone else around you—down. Remember, it’s your private server, so you can run whatever application you choose, whenever you like.

Even if you don’t feel the need to reach out to your hosting provider, just knowing that you have a reliable expert on call when you need it can be a real lifesaver. This allows you to focus on your small business, not the big technicalities.

3. It’s Got Reliable Uptime

Let’s face it—downtime is downright costly to your business.

That’s why with a VPS, you have defined memory and bandwidth allocations all within your virtual environment. If your website grows in popularity, your visitors won’t get frustrated over slow loading times. Why? Because your VPS is able to handle all the incoming traffic, keeping your business operating as usual.

If you’re also looking to amp up your SEO performance on your website, a VPS is the way to go. Avoiding the noisiness of Shared Hosting neighbors, VPS Hosting offers more optimization opportunities to speed up the loading time of your website. Given that Google takes into consideration page loading times, the fast performance and higher amount of resources of VPS Hosting can only help to keep your business or blog top of mind.

And, when compared to Dedicated Server Hosting, VPS also features its own OS and allows for separate rebooting. This “portability of application” is a huge benefit of VPS Hosting. As previously mentioned, if you decide you want to upgrade or downgrade your server, your hosting provider can move you to a new virtual server with zero downtime. Reliable, indeed.

4. It’s Very Secure

Concerned about security? Don’t worry, a VPS has your back.

Because your website is hosted in its own “virtual” space, you don’t have to concern yourself with what your neighbors are doing, as you might with Shared Hosting. A VPS is far more secure because it provides you root access, which gives you the ability to implement advanced security measures in your server environment. What does this mean exactly? Your neighbors don’t have any access to your resources or files that are kept behind a secure partition.

VPS Hosting and Dedicated Server Hosting also often come with a dedicated IP address, making it far less likely that your website is confused for another while offering benefits for email marketing and security for e-commerce payments.

Small business owners or organizations with highly-mobile staff can benefit greatly from this type of secure accessibility.

5. It Won’t Break the Bank

When it comes to cost, a VPS is more or less right in the middle.

Although it’s a bit more expensive when compared to Shared Hosting, it’s significantly less expensive than a Dedicated Server.

And, when you add in just how easily and effectively a VPS tends to scale, this makes it the most cost-effective hosting choice there is. In other words, you get what you pay for and/or you pay for what you use.

Because you’re not investing in the upfront costs of a physical server like Dedicated Server Hosting, you only take what you need and don’t overinvest in unwanted capacity.

How’s that for being cost-effective?

6. It Suits Many Scenarios

Running a VPS is a great choice for many different website needs.

If you run a high-traffic website –As we mentioned earlier, a VPS is designed to withstand surges in traffic, e.g. e-commerce webshops that promote their seasonal sales.

If you use a sandbox – A sandbox is a virtual environment that many companies use to build, test, and deploy software before going to production. Need to identify bugs? Fix them? Test patches? Then a VPS is your best bet, allowing you to test and/or simulate whatever is needed. And once you’re finished and okay with that, you can easily go back to default. You can't do the same with Dedicated Server Hosting, where it requires communication with Customer Support to reset, which can take several days.

If you want to develop your own software – Programming students or web developers, this one’s for you. A VPS lets you test and try out different staging environments so you know what works best.

If you want to have separate backup storage – A specific amount of disk space and file limitations make a VPS very popular when storing offsite backups.

If you stream online – A VPS is a solid option if you regularly vlog, produce online courses, hold digital conferences, and broadcast content.

If you are a reseller host or domain reseller – A VPS offers more power than conventional shared Reseller Hosting, letting you implement customized control panels and features that drive more customers and sales.

If you handle email/database servers – A VPS gives email server users full control over outgoing emails while letting you set up advanced filters. Those who handle database servers turn to a VPS for more security and optimized resource usage.

If you use a VPN (Virtual Private Network) – If you want to set up secure access for your business network, a VPS helps control all incoming traffic.

Key Benefits Of An Order Management System

Key Benefits Of An Order Management System

Customer expectations and product demands have changed. As customers increasingly drive the buying journey, merchants must adjust quickly to ensure they are delivering a seamless customer experience in a way that is cost-effective for their businesses. This is where an order management system can help, providing key benefits that align a company with evolving customer expectations and current market demands.

With all the features and benefits that an order management platform can offer, a surprising number of commerce merchants still do not focus on digitalizing this process. Whether you are a small business with two stores or a large, multibillion-dollar company, using an order management platform, such as the one provided by Magento, is necessary for continued growth and profitability.

When paired with a strong digital commerce platform, an order management solution can help provide the additional capabilities needed to meet customer growing demands and expectations. With such fierce competition, your business needs to rely on more than just the traditional methods of order management. It’s important to invest in an updated system that provides seamless orders, tracking, customer service, and omnichannel functionality.

Seamless Order Management

The order management process starts when a customer places an order, and it ends when the service or items are received. From the moment a sale is made to the second it is in-hand, the entire process needs to be as seamless as possible for the customer. Your order management solution needs to make the entire process flow across all touch points. It also needs to happen flawlessly, without delays or other problems.

If a customer experiences any hiccups, glitches, or something perceived as a disturbance to the overall buying experience, that person is more likely to become unhappy with your company. If your order management system, or lack of one, cannot meet or surpass customer expectations, you are at risk of losing clients, and they will take their business elsewhere.

Centralized Customer Service

Today, customers expect to be informed every step of the way across the buying journey with regular email updates, tracking information, and delivery status alerts. Without order management solutions in place to compile customer information and filter data into one place, there are more opportunities for error.

With Magento's centralized customer service, all customer and order information is centralized in one location. This keeps every customer service rep more informed via a complete view across sales channels and fulfillment centers to address any inquiries about shipping, delivery, or even cancellations.

We're seeing drops in call center volume ranging from 40 to 60 percent as customers can track order status online. This transition to more transparency in the shipping and delivery process is something customers are beginning to expect whenever they make a purchase.

Omnichannel Store Fulfillment

From buy online/pickup in-store (BOPIS) to same-day shipping, customers expect as much choice in delivery as they do in channels of engagement. Shoppers expect to be able to have an order fulfilled in a way, time, and place that is most convenient to them. Each touchpoint in the journey presents an opportunity to provide great customer experience and boost retention and revenue.

Magento omnichannel capabilities offer customers the type of options that are expected today: ship from store, ship to store, BOPIS, and an endless aisle of inventory. This endless aisle gives customers more options to purchase items from a global inventory that can be fulfilled anywhere.

Global Inventory and Sourcing

The size of your business should not limit your opportunities for growth. Showing the customer live inventory is incredibly powerful and something an order management system can enable. With the option of utilizing global inventory control, customers are able to view real-time information on where they can purchase and obtain their required products or services. Even if you have a couple of inventory locations – for example, a store and a warehouse – you will have the ability with Magento's global inventory and sourcing to determine the fastest and most cost-effective way to get your products to customers.

If you are managing multiple channels, you can have more fine-grained control of your inventory to specify which SKUs and what quantity of those items are sold on which channel. This lets you prioritize channels to align to demand and margins, all critical for success at peak sales periods like Black Friday.

Invest in an Order Management System

These days it's about complexity, not about size. If you have multiple stores, warehouses, or sales channels and websites in various countries, and you want to try and bring them all together, order management makes sense. With order management, you're able to pull all of those different platforms for different countries together – in one place.

While the benefits of using an order management system for larger global companies are apparent, smaller businesses can benefit as well. What's notable about Magento's order management system is that no matter how small your business is, you can keep up with the platform. As your business grows, you can add customization and extensions to make the order management system do what you need it to do. From eCommerce purchases to in-store locations, consumers expect products and services to be delivered to them quickly and accurately. The benefits of using an order management system include having the ability to keep your inventory and tracking in line, while also providing a seamless, front-facing experience for your customers.

Tips for Increasing the Efficiency and Functionality of Your eCommerce Business

Tips for Increasing the Efficiency and Functionality of Your eCommerce Business

ECommerce has given small and midsize enterprises (SME) a chance to grow into bigger companies with customers from all around the world. Those customers have high expectations from online businesses, challenging them to steadily improve the quality of their eCommerce businesses.

Each part of an eCommerce operation – ranging from customer-facing operations on the front end to fulfillment and inventory management on the back end – can be upgraded to improve efficiency and expand functionality. Improvements include online personalization, mobile optimization, and intelligent commerce to engage with customers, alongside enhancements throughout the internal supply chain.

Personalization Is Key

Customer expectations are higher than ever before, with technological advancements that provide an abundance of information about products and services. People are better equipped to research eCommerce sites and online reviews that help to inform their purchase decisions.

While quality service and fair prices used to be enough to keep customers satisfied, they now demand more personalized service that fosters long-term loyalty. People are more likely to remain loyal to companies that can show how well they understand their customers by having a full view of their shopping habits.

Personalization is key to standing out amid the many choices consumers have among a wide variety of products and service. Fortunately, personalization is possible for even the smallest eCommerce businesses, including emerging brands whose goals include customer loyalty along with brand awareness and greater market share.

Personalization not only includes the content that customers see when they visit an eCommerce site, but also promotional efforts such as customized e-mail marketing campaigns. eCommerce businesses can tailor their messaging to connect with customers based on their past shopping habits.

eCommerce sites can also personalize what customers see based on their geographic region, shopping habits, product browsing history, date of birth, and average order size, among other attributes. However, it's important to let customers know how their personal data is being used to give them greater assurances of privacy. Many people are willing to share personal information, but they want to see tangible benefits like discounts and other special offers.

Mobile-First Focus

ECommerce has migrated to mobile devices as people grow more comfortable with using smartphones to shop. Providing a mobile-friendly experience is necessary to convert Internet users into paying customers.

Mobile-first initiatives are currently undergoing a massive shift with changes in technology. While responsive design is the current industry standard, there are many forward-looking advancements that will soon become commonplace.

Progressive Web Apps (PWAs), which use regular Internet technology but deliver an app-like experience in a mobile or desktop Web browser, have become more popular among eCommerce sites. PWAs are easier to maintain than mobile apps, making them more accessible to SMEs that don't have the financial resources and manpower for IT development. Oftentimes, SMEs can't justify the effort to build a mobile app that's difficult to find in crowded app stores.

However, shoppers now expect app-like experiences that include a modern mobile interface, app-like navigation and functions, and features such as push notifications. PWAs provide all these features and can be easily updated without requiring customers to download the latest upgrade.

Intelligent Commerce on the Rise

Intelligent commerce relies on the latest artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) technologies to improve website functionality. More eCommerce businesses are adopting these innovations to make their websites more dynamic.

Marketers and merchandisers currently can collect troves of data about their customers, but the next step is putting that information to work with intelligence commerce that's more responsive than past digital technologies.

These innovations have become more accessible to SMEs, giving them stronger footing to compete with bigger rivals. Supplementing data-driven eCommerce initiatives with AI is becoming an important way to satisfy the need for the personalization of eCommerce experiences.

Improving Online Checkout

Retailers can have amazing eCommerce sites with the latest features to engage shoppers, only to see those efforts wasted with an abandoned shopping cart. To cut down on abandonment rates, which are estimated to be as high as 80 percent, eCommerce sites need to harness as much data as possible to figure out when shoppers don't follow through with a purchase.

For example, a shopping session on an eCommerce store that ends abruptly may indicate a customer was distracted by something else, was surprised by high prices, or was virtually window-shopping. ECommerce sites can use that information to determine whether they should send a reminder email that includes discounts or other promotions to close the sale.

Customers who routinely drop off during checkout may indicate that the process is creating too much friction and needs to be redesigned.

Back-End Integration

A key part of improving front-end operations is connecting them with back-end support, giving customers greater visibility into product inventories online. That helps to manage their expectations and increases the likelihood they'll be satisfied with a final purchase. Improved customer satisfaction helps to cut down on product returns that are costly to restock.

Better inventory visibility lets shoppers at physical stores check the availability of items, helping them to decide whether to visit another store location or to order products for delivery. Greater transparency also helps eCommerce businesses determine which warehouses can provide the quickest and least expensive distribution.

Ultimately, a lack of visibility and access to inventory typically results in inflated shipping and logistics costs – and possibly the loss of a sale.

Thinking Ahead

These tips for improving the efficiency and functionality of eCommerce operations reflect some of the most common areas for advancement and future progress. It's important to take a holistic approach toward eCommerce, considering how front-end operations can work more seamlessly with back-end functions to boost customer satisfaction and longer-term loyalty.

SMEs that demonstrate their willingness to exceed the expectations of customers by personalizing their interactions, delivering a mobile-first experience, and adopting intelligent commerce solutions will stand out in a crowded marketplace. Improving online checkouts and making inventories more transparent to customers boost the likelihood that customers will keep coming back.

The graphics source code for Xbox Series X has leaked online

The graphics source code for Xbox Series X has leaked online

Microsoft has been quite forthcoming with information about its upcoming console, but it probably wasn’t ready for its graphics source code to be leaked.

The Series X uses a custom GPU by AMD which supports ray-tracing. AMD’s current RDNA flagship, the Radeon RX 5700 XT, features 2,560 Stream Processors across 40 compute units. For comparison, the Series X has 3,328 Stream Processors spread across 52 compute units.

AMD will release high-end GPUs that are more powerful, and more expensive, than what’s being offered in the Series X this year. The company says that a hacker obtained source files for some of its current and future GPUs.

“In December 2019, we were contacted by someone who claimed to have test files related to a subset of our current and future graphics products, some of which were recently posted online, but have since been taken down,” said AMD in a statement.

One of the aforementioned future GPUs is destined for the Xbox Series X.

AMD says it’s filed multiple takedown requests to GitHub where repositories hosted stolen GPU code for future Navi 10, 21, and Arden hardware. Whether the fact GitHub is a Microsoft-owned platform has anything to do with it or not, the code containing details of the Series X GPU was taken down pretty quickly.

Of course, this isn’t the end of the matter. In an interview with TorrentFreak, the alleged hacker threatened to “just leak everything” if they’re unable to sell the information.

AMD doesn’t appear to be too concerned about the situation.

“While we are aware the perpetrator has additional files that have not been made public, we believe the stolen graphics IP is not core to the competitiveness or security of our graphics products,” says AMD. “We are not aware of the perpetrator possessing any other AMD IP.”

The company says it is currently working with law enforcement and other experts as part of a criminal investigation into the matter.

How AI is Changing the Face of Customer Service

How AI is Changing the Face of Customer Service

Having a good customer service process is an integral element to the success of any business. The way this process looks, however, is dramatically changing.

Let’s explore the rise of artificial intelligence (AI), chatbots and messaging for customer service.

The Rise of Chatbots

A chatbot is an artificial intelligence or a computer program that interacts with a user through text or audio. It’s hard to imagine a world without chatbots since it has become part of ordinary transactions today. However, they weren’t always around to assist customers.

Chatbots was first contemplated by Alan Turing, an English computer scientist who authored the paper, “Computer Machinery and Intelligence”, in 1950. In his article, Turing outlined the Turing artificial intelligence test and challenged his students and colleagues by asking whether machines can think.

The Turing test inspired many computer scientists. Among them was Joseph Weizenbaum, who created ELIZA in 1966. ELIZA set out the foundation for the structure of chatbots used today such as pre-programmed responses, keywords, and specific phrases.

Other bots followed thereafter. In 1995, A.L.I.C.E, a language-processing bot, gained popularity. In 2001, Smarterchild, which is considered as a precursor of Siri and S Voice, was distributed across SMS networks.

The last decade saw bots as an integral part of tech companies. For example, IBM has Watson, Apple has Siri, Google has Google Now, Samsung has S Voice, Amazon has Alexa, Microsoft has Cortana and Facebook has Portal (backed by Alexa).

In 2016, Facebook further facilitated the development of AI-enabled customer service when it launched a messaging platform that enabled business developers to create bots that converse with their followers. Businesses have also integrated chatbots on their websites.

Impact of AI to Customer Service

In research conducted by Forrester, messaging itself ranked as the No.1 customer service channel preferred by consumers in South Korea, Singapore, India and the US, and among the top three preferred channels across the world.

Small wonder then, a large proportion of businesses (both big and small) and incorporating some form of messaging functionality into their CRM.

The following are the top cited benefits that come from AI customer service:

Round-the-clock Service

Chatbots can be operational 365 days a year and 24 hours a day, allowing them to serve your customers even while you’re sleeping or doing other tasks.

Instantaneous Response

Contemporary consumers desire immediate results and lean on businesses that deliver on promptness. One study on chatbot user experience found that 40 per cent of consumers don’t care whether a human or a chatbot responds to their questions as long as they get quick help.

Easy Access

Chatbots can be easily accessed by users who are increasingly moving away from traditional phone inquiries and want everything accessible from their mobile phone.

Consumers are not the only ones who benefit from chatbots. According to Chatbots Magazine, the incorporation of AI-enabled customer support by businesses has saved up to 30% in cost as it allows prompt resolution of basic customer queries. Juniper Research relayed that chatbots were responsible for a $20 million business savings in 2017. In addition, research by PWC showed 34 per cent of business executives express that utilizing chatbots reduced their workload and allowed them to focus on creating new business ideas, which were previously spent on resolving clients’ concerns.

Aside from the benefits mentioned, the use of chatbots can also increase your sales.

In a recent experiment conducted by HubSpot using Facebook Messenger to drive and follow up leads to an event, they saw an incredible 477 per cent reduction in lead cost, and 242 per cent increase in opens, followed by a 619 per cent increase to their click through rate. Not bad for a free bot integration.

Similarly, in 2017 a bot created by the organizers of the Australian Open directly outperformed Ticketek in selling tickets for the popular tennis tournament. The bot drove 170 per cent more conversions than the Ticketek for a 25x return on investment.

3 Ways Asia Is Shaping Digital Consumers Of The Future

3 Ways Asia Is Shaping Digital Consumers Of The Future

Image Credit: LightRocket via Getty Images

A surge in smartphone usage over the last decade spurred an infatuation with the mobile device, which has spilled over into commerce activities. Even activities that were predominantly performed on other devices are now shifting to phones in greater numbers.

The rise of social commerce, digital wallets and now super apps are three of the clearest ways that Asia has most impacted the digital consumer globally. These are all trends that first gained steamed in Asia Pacific. Those in different parts of the world have taken noticed and attempted to replicate at least portions of the strategy. The below explores how these three trends took shape in Asia and what others can learn from these developments:

1. Marrying social life with commerce

Asian consumers take a pragmatic approach to time spent online. For example, WeChat can be used to hail a taxi, order food delivery, buy cinema tickets, pay utility bills and even book a doctor’s appointment, all via an integrated app. In contrast, social media in the West is much more fragmented, with a variety of apps from a plethora of competitors fulfilling those needs.

As social media grew in popularity in the East, these platforms worked with companies to bring their brand messaging into the wide network of personal influencers. As a result, one of the first places where social converged with commerce was Asia Pacific. In contrast, Western social media players have been less confident about the introduction of purchasing tools and how to leverage social platforms in the consumer engagement process to build more genuine relationships. Recommendations from known connections is especially valuable in a market like China where consumers often do not trust official sources. Instead, their purchasing decisions are influenced more by word of mouth. In fact, 40% of China’s consumers find recommendations from families and friends “extremely influential”, compared to only 32% in the US and 26% in the UK, according to Euromonitor International’s 2019 Lifestyles Survey.

2. The super app revolution

Besides social commerce, Asia Pacific also gave rise to the super app revolution. A super app is a multifunctional mobile app combining several features, such as communication, lifestyle, social, financial and retail, in a single platform. This type of app enables companies to leverage their existing infrastructure to generate new revenue streams and increase consumer engagement. Consumers have embraced these all-in-one apps because they offer a seamless, integrated, contextualized and efficient experience.

These apps first emerged in Asia on the back of popular social platforms like WeChat. Tencent layered additional services, including ones that would assist with aspects of a consumer’s financial and retail life, in its core messaging platform to drive usage and engagement.

While many super apps like WeChat are rooted in messaging, others like Go-Jek started in transport. Established in 2011 as a motorbike-hailing mobile app in Indonesia, Go-Jek capitalized on its network of 200,000 drivers across 25 cities to begin offering services in other sectors. Singapore-based Grab, which started in 2012 as a taxi-hailing platform, now offers a plethora of everyday services as well. In 2018, the company launched a payment platform, GrabPay, and a foodservice delivery platform, GrabFood, and acquired Uber’s business in Southeast Asia. Adding delivery to transport-based apps is a natural way to leverage existing resources like a logistics network to create new revenue streams.

3. A hotbed for digital wallet exploration

Digital wallets are another area where Asia Pacific is taking the lead when it comes to tech-inspired commerce. Asia Pacific is being overrun with these alternative payment platforms.

Digital wallets have taken different forms depending on market dynamics. In China, more than half of 1 billion people use mobile payment services, such as Alipay and WeChat Pay, to transact in online and brick-and-mortar stores. In Singapore, the industry is extremely fragmented compared to China, with the island nation having 27 different digital wallets. Even in cash-dominated societies, such as India, mobile wallets like Paytm helped drive growth of digital payments.

Asia Pacific is the global leader in mobile payments. In 2018, Asian consumers transacted US$1.6 trillion on mobile devices, corresponding to 61% of the total mobile payment value globally, according to Euromonitor International. Asian connected consumers are more likely to use their mobile phone on either a weekly or monthly basis to buy goods or services than their counterparts elsewhere, according to Euromonitor International’s 2019 Lifestyles Survey.
Asia will continue to write the digital consumer story for years to come

Asia Pacific is already an important region based on many metrics and will increase its leadership in the future. With the global balance of power continuing to shift to Asia, the region will continue to be the largest market for digital commerce in the next five years. Of course, China is a key driver. By 2023, China will account for an estimated 64% of digital commerce in Asia Pacific and 27% globally, according to Euromonitor International.

Retailers and brands wishing to win in Asia must embrace the digital channel as a key one for reaching and engaging consumers. It is important to consider how consumers use their mobile phones within larger lifestyle choices like social media. Mobile will continue to play a fundamental role, similar to the three trends highlighted above.

Web Design Plays an Essential Role in Website Development

Designing websites is now a major service in the fast moving world of Internet business. The number of websites to be found on the World Wide Web has mushroomed and thus so has the importance of web design to business. All burgeoning and successful companies are eager to run a successful website and every thrusting businessman wants to improve the prospects of their business via the Internet, which is why website designing has become a flourishing business in itself.

As a result, website designing now forms a critical part of the web development process. Building attractive, glamorous and easily navigable websites have far greater appeal to users than ones that are uninteresting. It is in this area that web designing plays a critical role. It is only the websites with the best web design that will win over the best users or subscribers. Therefore, websites are one of the most important tools a business can have to bring clients straight to your business and help business to achieve their full business potential.

Designing a website is a complex activity which needs a thorough understanding of the process and any agency employed needs to be able to translate your company's Internet aspirations into reality. It is much better to hire a professional web designer to serve your purpose and to build a bespoke website for your business, rather than using a template supplied by your domain provider. It is also not a good idea to outsource your requirements to other countries offering cheap web design because not only is there the possibility of language barriers so that you may not get your message across to the designer, but there may also be cultural differences which could result in a website that is not suitable for the main target audience of your products and services.

It is preferable to find a website design agency that allows you to outline your requirements clearly, perhaps by asking for your favourite colour schemes, perhaps naming three of your favourite sites so they can see what you like and who are generally prepared to listen to what you want. Being able to clearly identify your requirements at the outset will not only lead to the swift design of your website, but also avoids the unnecessary redesigning and reworking of designs. Everyone who wants a website will prefer to have it done efficiently first time around.

In order to facilitate this, there are a number of steps involved in designing a site that works well and is appealing. You need to be very clear about what you believe would best suit your business needs and your website needs to be in tune with the type of business you are operating. The site needs to be easy to navigate and user-friendly.

When choosing a designer, look carefully at their portfolio and experience and ensure they can handle complex design projects. With a little research, it is perfectly possible to find affordable web design, but research is vital for this to be effectively achieved.

What is a Computer Virus

An important difference between computer viruses and worms is that viruses require an active host program or an already-infected and active operating system in order for viruses to run, cause damage and infect other executable files or documents and the worms are stand-alone malicious programs that can self-replicate and propagate via computer networks without any human help.

Viruses are typically attached to an executable file or a word document. They often spread via P2P file sharing, infected websites, and email attachment downloads. Once a virus finds its way onto your system, it will remain dormant until the infected host file or program is activated, which in turn makes the virus active enabling it to run and replicate on your system.

Worms, on the other hand, don't need a host program in order for them to run, self-replicate and propagate. Once a worm has made its way onto your system, usually via a network connection or as a downloaded file, it can then make multiple copies of itself and spread via the network or internet connection infecting any inadequately-protected computers and servers on the network. Because each subsequent copy of a network worm can also self-replicate, infections can spread very rapidly via the internet and computer networks.

How Do Computer Viruses Spread?

The Viruses and Worms are malicious software programs. Please check the following:

  • Email-Worm

  • IM-Worm

  • IRC-Worm

  • Net-Worm

  • P2P-Worm

  • Virus

  • Computer Worms
Most known computer worms are spread in one of the following ways:

    • Files sent as email attachments

    • Via a link to a web or FTP resource

    • Via P2P (peer-to-peer) file sharing networks

    • Via a link sent in an ICQ or IRC message

    • Some worms are spread as network packets. These directly penetrate the computer memory, and the worm code is then activated.

  • Computer worms can exploit network configuration errors (for example, to copy themselves onto a fully accessible disk) or exploit loopholes in operating system and application security. Many worms will use more than one method in order to spread copies via networks.

  • Viruses
Viruses can be divided according to the method that they use to infect a computer:

    • File viruses

    • Boot sector viruses

    • Macro viruses

    • Script viruses

  • Any program within this subclass of malware can also have additional Trojan functions.

How to protect yourself against Computer Viruses and Worms

It’s recommended that you install anti-malware software on all of your devices – including PCs, laptops, Macs and smartphones – and that your anti-malware solution receives regular updates, in order to protect against the latest threats. A good anti-malware software product – such as Kaspersky Anti-Virus – will detect and prevent virus and worm infections on your PC, while Kaspersky Internet Security for Android is an excellent choice for protecting Android smartphones. Kaspersky Lab has products that protect the following devices:

  • Windows PCs

  • Linux computers

  • Apple Macs

  • Smartphones

  • Tablets

What is SEO and How It Works?

What is SEO and How It Works?

SEO stands for search engine optimization, which is the process of optimizing your website to get organic or unpaid traffic from the search engine results page. If your business isn’t online then You're Losing Potential Customers.

The three key parts of any Website SEO

Generally, you can start the 3 search engine optimisation (SEO) areas below.

  1. Technical SEO.

  2. On-page SEO.

  3. Off-page SEO.

1. Technical SEO

If you would plan to buy a house then deffinitely you should check the location and connectivity, right?

Thus, the navigation and crawling play a significant role in your website's SEO.

It simply means the website should have a good structure (Categorized & Organized) so that it is easy for both users and the search engine to understand what kind of the website is.

And, as illustrated in the chart below, one should not have more than three levels of pages. In other words, site visitors should only have to click three times (at most) to find what they want.

Below we list the three parts of technical SEO

Site map

A site map is a list of all the pages on your website and it helps Google index your web pages easily. It allows webmasters to include additional information about each URL.

SSL certificate

SSL Certificates are small data files that digitally bind a cryptographic key to an organization's details. When installed on a web server, it activates the https protocol and allows secure connections from a web server to a browser.

Google has confirmed that the SSL certificate is a site ranking factor. In its attempt to provide the best service to its users, Google does not support any website that does not protect their visitors data privacy.

If your website does not have SSL certificate, Google will label it “Not secure.”

Site speed and uptime

Site speed and uptime are also the most important factors of website SEO.If your website is down most of the time, then Google might even de-index your website ranking if you didn’t fix the issue in time. So make sure that your hosting provider guarantees at least 99.9% site uptime. If your current web host cannot make such a guarantee, consider switching to one that can assure uptime guarantee.

2. On-page SEO

On-page SEO is the practice of optimizing individual website pages in order to rank higher and earn more relevant traffic in search engines. On-page refers to both the content and HTML source code of a page that can be optimized. You should optimize your website titles, descriptions and content for getting higher rank and more traffic. Keywords also play a vital role in on-page site optimization. A keyword is a search term that user type into the search engine while they looking for any information.

3. Off-page SEO

Off-page, SEO is all about links building and social media marketing.

Link Building

Link building is the most popular and effective off-Page SEO approach. Link building is the process of getting other websites to link back to your website.

There are number of ways to increase link count in Google webmaster. The most popular ways are:

Blog Directories: something like yellow pages but each post or entry had a link pointing to a website. If you submit your blog or website to blog directories then it will help you a lot to improve your Search Engine Result Page.

Forum Posting: Many people are commenting on forums for the idea of getting a link back to their website.Forum Posting is an ideal method to quickly build inbound links to the website.

Blog Commenting: Blog commenting in SEO is the process of posting comments on website pages with a backlink to your own website.

Article Directories: If you will publish your articles in article directories you could get a link back to your website.

Social Media Marketing

Social media marketing is one of the important part of “off-site SEO” It connect with your audience to build your brand, increase sales, and drive website traffic. Social media promotion can also boost SEO.

Difference Between Cloud and VPS Hosting

Difference Between Cloud and VPS Hosting

In this article, we are going to tell you about two of the most popular and reliable forms of web hosting – Cloud and VPS Hosting. Also, we will list down the difference between VPS and Cloud.

What is Cloud Hosting?
Cloud Hosting is an arrangement where multiple machines that are connected within a network act as one. With the Cloud Hosting you get all the benefits of cloud technologies as well as the ease and simplicity of Shared Hosting. It provides you the power to scale your RAM and CPU resources and also maintaining redundant copies of your storage to protect against disk failure.

What is VPS Hosting?
VPS stands for Virtual Private Server. VPS Hosting is more like a hybrid of Shared Hosting and Dedicated Hosting. In VPS, a single server is breaked up into different sections with a software known as the hypervisor where in each section acts as an autonomous server. Each of these virtual compartments servers share the resources such as bandwidth, space, operating systems, etc. of the parent server amongst themselves. However, none of these ever have to bear the brunt of the over-usage of another server or even get affected by any failure in any of the servers.
Cloud Hosting vs VPS Hosting

Performance

Cloud Hosting have higher availability, better uptimes and blazing fast website load speed and VPS Hosting provides a fixed level of performance since a set level of system resources are dedicated to each virtual server.

In a Cloud Hosting , there are multiple servers connected to each other that store copies of your data. So, in case there is a failure in any of the servers, another available server takes up its operations as files and functional responsibilities of the failed server are instantly migrated to it without any downtime. Thus, there is no single point of failure with Cloud Hosting.

In the case of VPS Hosting, your server is partitioned using a hypervisor. which enables your website to perform optimally with lesser requirements. VPS Hosting makes use of KVM (Kernal-based Virtual Machine).

However, a single point of failure on the part of the parent server i.e. the physical server will lead to a disruption in functioning, and eventually failure of all the virtual servers on that machine. Usually, high demands by one or more virtual servers on the same physical server has the potential to impact the performances of both the affected servers if both of them need extra resources at the same time.

Scalability

The easy availability of truly high processing power makes Cloud Hosting certainly a lot more reliable and scalable. Cloud Hosting allows you to upgrade your RAM and CPU resources on-demand with a single click whenever you experience a spike in website traffic.
In the case of VPS Hosting, you can neither scale your resources nor the plans.

Customization

With Cloud Hosting you can install various applications with a single click from cPanel. However, one may have less control over the hosting settings when it comes to distributing functions across multiple servers.
Customization with respect to VPS Hosting works in the same fashion as it does for a Dedicated Server. VPS hosting gives users full root access replete with complete control over the operating systems, the website as well as all the software. Customization and configuration can be done as desired. However, since every physical host system is capable of running only one OS, the choice of OS may be limited in case the provider doesn’t provide many choices.

Cost

Cloud Hosting, relatively, costs lesser than VPS Hosting since your server space is shared with other users on the server.
VPS Hosting is usually more expensive than Cloud Hosting. This is because your server space is isolated and you get guaranteed server resources that not shared by others.

Google algorithms update guide 2019

Google algorithms update guide 2019

Google's algorithm update 2019

Google's algorithms are the most common words we find while surfing through the internet. Algorithms are a basic set of rules for solving a problem through a few numbers of steps. Google is the giant encyclopedia for information. Google offers you answers for queries you type in. Now the question is how does Google do that? Well, Google performs a set of rules that does the job and It's known as "Google's algorithms."

What are Google's algorithms?

Google's algorithms are a highly developed system used to retrieve data from its search index and instantly focus on the best possible results for a query. The Google search engine uses a combination of algorithms and ranking signals to deliver to web pages.

All Google algorithms

1. Google Panda
2. Google Penguin
3. Google Fred
4. Google Hummingbird
5. RankBrain
6. Google Pigeon
What are Google’s Algorithm updates of 2019?

Every year Google updates its algorithms to enhance the feel of web experience for users. Let us have a see at the algorithm updates introduced by Google in 2019.
Google Update Nov 2019
Many SEO experts and webmasters, especially from the USA, observed significant fluctuations in search engine rankings. Especially the rankings of little and medium-sized websites in the USA were affected. The sites joined to health, food and travel were the primary sectors that suffered the brunt. As always, back it is not a wide update that requires any fix, Google has just asked to focus upon high-environment content.

BERT Algorithm Update Oct 2019

The BERT algorithm expands as Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers. The algorithm helps the robot to process the natural language queries are typed in by the users in the context intended by the user to apportion the best search results.

The Broad Core Algorithm Update Sep 2019

The Broad Core Algorithm Update (Sep 2019) mainly focus on links. The SEO specialists noticed a decreasing rank of sites that use irrelevant 301 divert trick. It is noticed that sites that used connections of expired domains suffered ranking demotions.

Jun 2019 Core Update

Google rolled out another significant update called the June 2019 core update along with the diversity algorithm updates.
The core update focused on the following details.

The algorithm focused on content that is comprehensive, insightful and original. The algorithm was strictly against clickbait headlines and concentrated on the authoritativeness of the material. Google says that the best kind of content inspires people to bookmark the content and cite in print.

Quality of the author and their expertise is essential. Also, include authentic details of the author.

The style of presenting the content to the audience. The main focus was on the number od Ads displayed along with the main content, which may distract the user from the main content and also the mobile-friendly presentation. The basic idea is a mobile-first.

The algorithm compared the quality of pages in the same niche for the concerned keyword. List Of MySQL Restrictions and Limitations

1. limitations on Stored Programs

The following additional limitations apply for stored programs:
Some of the limitations mentioned here apply to stored procedures and stored functions.
SQL Statements Not allowed in Stored Routines
Stored routines can't contain arbitrary SQL statements. The following statements are not allowed:
The locking statements LOCK TABLES and UNLOCK TABLES.
ALTER VIEW. LOAD DATA and LOAD TABLE.
SQL prepared statements PREPARE, EXECUTE & DEALLOCATE PREPARE can be used in stored procedures, but not into stored functions or triggers. So the stored functions and triggers can't use dynamic SQL.
Inserts can't be delayed. INSERT DELAYED is accepted but the statement is taken care of as a normal INSERT.
Limitations for Stored Functions
The following additional statements or operations are not allowed within stored functions. They are allowed within stored procedures, except stored procedures that are invoked from within a stored function or trigger. For example, if you use FLUSH a stored procedure, that stored procedure can't be called from a stored function or trigger.
Statements that perform explicitly or implicit commit or rollback. Support for these statements is not required by the SQL standard, which states that each DBMS vendor may decide whether to permit them.
Stored functions can't be used recursively.
A stored function or trigger can't modify a table that is already being used by the statement that invoked the function or trigger.
Limitations for Triggers
The following additional limitations apply for triggers:
Triggers are not activated by a foreign key actions.
When using row-based replication, triggers on the slave are not activated by statements originating on the master. The triggers on the slave are activated when using statement-based replication.
The RETURN statement is not allowed in triggers, which can't return a value. To exit a trigger immediately, use the LEAVE statement.
Triggers are not allowed on tables in the mysql database. Nor are they allowed on INFORMATION_SCHEMA or performance_schema tables. Those tables are actually views and triggers are not allowed on views.
The trigger cache does not detect when metadata of the underlying objects has changed. If a trigger uses a table and the table has changed since the trigger was loaded into the cache, the trigger operates using the outdated metadata.
Name Conflicts within Stored Routines
The same identifier might be used for a routine parameter, a local variable, and a table column. Also, the same local variable name can be used in nested blocks. In these cases, the identifier is ambiguous and the following precedence rules apply:
A local variable takes precedence over a routine parameter or table column.
A routine parameter takes precedence over a table column.
A local variable in an inner block takes precedence over a local variable in an outer block.
Debugging Considerations
There are no stored routine debugging facilities.
Event Scheduler limitations
The following limitations are specific to the Event Scheduler:
Event names are taken care of in case-insensitive fashion. For example, you can't have two events in the same database with the names anEvent and AnEvent.
An event may not be created, altered, or dropped from within a stored program, if the event name is specified by means of a variable. An event also may not create, alter, or drop stored routines or triggers.
DDL statements on events are prohibited while a LOCK TABLES statement is in effect.
2. Limitations on Views

The maximum number of tables that can be referenced in the definition of a view is 61.
View processing is not optimized:
Not possible to create an index on a view.
Indexes can be used for views processed using the merge algorithm. However, a view that is processed with the temptable algorithm is unable to take advantage of indexes on its underlying tables.
3. Limitations on Condition Handling

SIGNAL, RESIGNAL, and GET DIAGNOSTICS are not allow as prepared statements.
4. Limitations on Cursors

The following limitations are specific to the Event Scheduler:
Cursors are read-only; you cannot use a cursor to update rows.
UPDATE WHERE CURRENT OF and DELETE WHERE CURRENT OF are not implemented, because updatable cursors are not supported.
Cursors are non-holdable.
Cursors are sensitive.
Cursors are non-scrollable.
Cursors are not named. The statement handler acts as the cursor ID.
